As a Scottish artist, and writer, the narrative and evocative storytelling of art fascinates me. Words often find their way into my work. Having studied 3D design after my foundation course at art college, I am inspired by how deeply we are affected by our surroundings. The paths and linear routes both in life and in my artwork often reflect my imaginings of where they will lead. Working in mixed media including acrylic, watercolour, graphite, wax, collage and inks, the process from sketch to a completed piece is thrilling and often unpredictable. Sketching outdoors it often occurs to me how readily paths will cross and destiny will determine if souls actually meet.
2018 has been exciting, taking part in five exhibitions in Edinburgh and London, including an art auction for Maggie's Edinburgh at The Dundas Street Gallery and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour at the RSA.
In March 2019 I took part in the Threads Exhibition at the Dundas Street Gallery and in May 2019 I will be exhibiting at Gallery 37 in Turin, Italy.
